Ever wanted your garage door to be a little quieter ? But wasn’t sure if you needed a garage door service or not. Try these 5 steps and keep your new garage door squeak free !
- Close the garage door completely & give yourself unhindered access to the track and chain.
- Using a step ladder on the floor beneath one of the two tracks, make sure to wear protective eye wear to shield your eyes from falling spray.
- Spray the end of the track and chain with a silicone-based lubricant. Do not use oil or grease on the track, as this may encourage grime to build up. Climb off the ladder and continue to spay down the track. Return to the top of the ladder and continue to spray the track and chain lightly.
- Move to the opposite side of the garage door with your step ladder and follow the same steps. Do not spray the wheels, just the track and chain.
- Raise and lower the door several times to allow the track and chain to become well lubricated and eliminate the squeaking.
All Done !
